Extra-terrestrial life has been reportedly been spotted in East Yorkshire as well as the rest of the county.
All over the world, thousands of UFO sightings are reported and, whether you believe in aliens or not, there is no disputing that they are a big talking point.
But the UFO wing of the air force was suddenly shut down in 2009, with government chiefs deciding there was no evidence of a potential threat from aliens.
The data of every recorded sighting was classified for more than a decade – but it has now been released, with the information below showing every single location of a UFO sighting in Yorkshire in 2009 – the most recent data on record.

The most likely place in Yorkshire to spot a UFO is in Bradford, with five reported sightings in the West Yorkshire city in 2009.
In Gilberdyke, 14 balls of light were spotted in the East Yorkshire patch.
Rotherham also seems to be a good place to lookout for extra-terrestrial life, with four reported sightings there, while Huddersfield and Sheffield both saw three reports in 2009.
The sightings were reported by people in all walks of life, with an air traffic controller from Ripon among those seeing bright lights in the sky.
In a report from June 7, 2009, they said they saw “bright orange lights” and then “a single light followed by a group of three, and then another single light.”

Another witness in Holmfirth said they saw “a black spherical object 12 metres in diameter…. 500ft up and travelling at 500 mph. It made no sound.”
Someone else in Doncaster rang the RAF later that year to report a sighting. The report states: “[Witness] saw a very large bright orange ball of fire travelling over woodland. There was no sound. In size would have been 20 to 30 times bigger than a jumbo jet.”
There have been sightings on the coast, too. This report from Filey in September 2009 says: “Brilliant and dazzling pure white horizontal ring of light.
“It appeared to be perfectly still in the sky above the houses and was totally silent.
“Object was hovering over the Belle Vue Crescent area.”
Meanwhile, a witness in Rotherham said they saw “a bright orange ball” travelling from the direction of Doncaster.
“It kept a level flight path then stopped,” they said.
“It then zigzagged a few times before shooting off at tremendous speed, vanishing in a few seconds.”
The full list of previously classified government data runs from 1997 to 2009, when the RAF stopped recording sightings of UFOs.
Over the 13-year period that the data was recorded, there were 235 claimed sightings in Yorkshire alone – an average of 18 reports every single year.
