2020 has been one heck of a strange year, particularly for Americans who are not only dealing with the lingering effects of a global pandemic, but who are also now in the thick of a contentious presidential election that could decide the fate of the nation as we know it.

Oh, and just for good measure, there has been tacit acknowledgements from our federal government regarding their study of the always baffling UFO phenomenon.

Just weeks ago, a government official who had previously worked on classified UFO projects seemed to admit that our nation was in possession of materials or machinery from “off world”.  Now the Pentagon is openly admitting that they are preparing to get themselves involved as well.

The Pentagon is forming a new task force to investigate UFOs that have been observed by US military aircraft, according to two defense officials.

Deputy Secretary of Defense David Norquist will help oversee the task force, which is expected to be officially unveiled in the next few days, according to the officials. Previous efforts to look into what the Pentagon dubs unidentified aerial phenomena were led by the US Navy as many of the documented encounters involved their aircraft.

In June, Congress voted to make the government’s work on the UFO subject far more public, prompting some in the field to suggest that a large-scale “disclosure” of government secrets could be forthcoming.
