People on a street in Lincolnshire were left baffled and starting into the sky as strange unidentified flying objects broke apart while floating above their homes.

Yellowbellies in Kirkby la Thorpe, near Sleaford, left their properties and stood outside to try and get a better look at the strange ‘ plastic’ objects littering the skyline above their village.

Homeowners had binoculars and were heard joking ‘we’re being invaded’ as they tried to make sense of what they were seeing at around 1pm on Sunday, May 18.

Footage of the bizarre objects was captured by a man visiting his mother, who wished to remain anonymous.

He told Lincolnshire Live they must have been between 80 and 100 feet long.

“Originally there was four in the sky and they were quite high up in the sky,” he said.

“I was visiting my stepfather and mother and when I saw them I thought someone might have crashed and someone was parachuting out.

“In Star Wars they have these solar sail things and I was wondering if it was one of those.

“One of the objects split into two, the other looked like it was going to land somewhere and another one went high into the sky.

“It could have been a bit of plastic but it was constantly changing shape all the time.

“I came out on the street to get a better look and there were members of the street outside looking with binoculars.

“I heard some say ‘we’re being invaded’.

“I’m not saying they were little green men on them, but I’d love to know what they were.”

The man said they looked like tapeworms in the sky.
