More bizarre footage has emerged of a ‘UFO’ which appeared to fall out of the sky in the Bath and Trowbridge area recently.

Witnesses have described seeing an unidentified object falling slowly, leaving a trail of vapour and then thick black smoke in its wake.

People have been left baffled by the incident which was captured on camera last Thursday (April 9) but due to the slow speed and direction the object was heading, a plane has been discounted.

Somerset Live reported on the initial sighting by Luke Craddock and his wife in Bath yesterday (Sunday, April 12).

Sarah Jefferies, from Hilperton, Trowbridge, manage to capture clear footage of the incident.

She said: “This is what we captured on the same day and time. We live in Hilperton Trowbridge. We too first it was from an aircraft but what took our attention was how it was falling vertically straight down at such a slow speed. It was just bizarre. Would love to find out what it was – it was the strangest thing we have ever seen.

“My friend’s husband said they (International Space Station crew) were docking that day so perhaps (it could be debris from that)? I don’t normally take much interest in these things but I had to comment because everything the other person had said was exactly what we had witnessed. It was too bizarre not to say anything.

“There was something so strange about it that we stopped to watch. I didn’t want to worry my children so before the video, I just said it could be something amazing falling from space. I think that’s why my son didn’t seem at all worried. My youngest did come downstairs at bedtime crying because he was frightened not knowing what it was. He calmed down eventually. I wish I could explain it.”

Mr Craddock said it continued to fall for nearly 10 minutes and the white vapour trail then changed to thick black smoke.

Then, to add to the mystery, a friend of his claims to have seen it too – all the way from London.

Mr Cradock said: “We have found that this April is currently quite active for meteor showers but I have also read that these pass quite quickly and this did not.

“At first we were concerned it was a plane in difficulty but the longer we watched the more we felt it did not fit this assumption.

“We would not normally spend this much time investigating something like this, but the fact that we can’t work out what this was and that very few seemed to have witnessed it, and there has been nothing on the news, so we are just intrigued to find out what this was.”
