A UFO witness phoned West Yorkshire Police to report being followed by a “bright, star-shaped object” while driving into Huddersfield.

The report from Mirfield was one of several logged by police and now released following a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.

The caller described the UFO travelling at the side of his vehicle at a distance of around a quarter of a mile.

A police log of the May 2016 call states: “This caller is describing a UFO – a bright, star-shaped object that travels at the side of his vehicle at a distance of a quarter of a mile.

“He does not actually know if it is a drone or not as he has been unable to see it in the dark. This is a genuine unidentified flying object.

“Last night there were 4/5 of these very large crafts that followed him into Huddersfield.”

The caller was one of three people who reported seeing a UFO between 2015 and 2019 in the Kirklees area.

In December 2017 a caller in Dewsbury reported seeing a very bright green light moving a high speed which he believed may have been a plane although it made no sound.

And in September 2019 a man in Almondbury called police to say he had seen a triangle-shaped object with lots of lights. He described as “orange, really bright, slowly rotating.”

He added: “This is not the first time. I have seen different ones over the years.”

Police released the logs but withheld incidents “which related to be abducted by aliens, where aliens were ‘in their head’ and mental health-related sightings…”

Three reported incidents from the Bradford area were also released following an FOI request.

In August 2015 a caller in the Toller area saw “an oblong shape with three red lights with three flashing blue lights above it; it was moving exceptionally fast. It went as far as Horton Bank Top, then back, went again and then came back.”

In August 2017, a caller reported seeing a UFO shaped like a triangle with red, blue and white lights. He said the UFO was hovering at distance but was slightly moving.

And in April 2018 a caller in Wyke told police that on February 22 at around 7pm she had seen a “white ball in the sky” which had turned into a blue-purple ball.

The caller said it looked like a “craft with lights”.

The police log says: “The light seemed to move over a street light like it was interacting with the light. Weather conditions were fine, not raining.”
