A couple have described seeing a strange Unidentified Flying Object being pursued by two fighters jets.
Neil Greenwood and Lauren Baugh were driving home on Saturday when a ‘white streak’ in the night sky caught their attention.
They pulled over and watched the object for a few seconds and then heard the roar of fast jets which appeared to be following the UFO.
The couple observed what happened from the Per Lane area of Halifax, which is just off the A629 Keighley Road.
Lauren, 24, of Halifax , said the white light had the appearance of a comet but was moving very fast.
She said other vehicles had spotted the same lights and began to flash their headlights and sound their horns. Some people pulled over to film the lights.
Both tried to film the lights on their mobile phones but the footage came out blurry.
Neil, 32, a confirmed non-believer when it comes to UFO matters, said: “I was a sceptic all my life but this shook me up.
“I didn’t really want to talk to anyone about it because they will think I am crazy.”
He added: “People in cars were pulling over, looking up and filming it.”
The footage on his mobile phone was taken at 5.16pm on Saturday November 9.
Neil is certain that the lights were not caused by fireworks or drones.
“We own drones and these were far too fast for drones. The UFO was in front of us and above. Probably less than a mile away. The jets were really loud.”
Neil’s mum Sophie Greenwood has been appealing on social media for further witnesses to the incident to come forward.
She said: “Plenty of people in cars saw it – I just wish I could find them to back up what we are saying.
She added: “We are not freaks or idiots and really I wouldn’t say anything about something like this if it wasn’t true because people just think we are muppets talking about UFOs.
“I want to hear from others who saw it that night.”
